Our Parish
The great thing is to become Saints
Renewal
This theme is essentially about a change of culture, new vision, an appropriation of the values of the gospel and a living out of them in order to achieve transformation within individuals, families, parishes and communities
Youth
The importance of youth ministry and engagement between authorities/structures is highlighted. The inclusion of the youth in leadership roles and structures is key in getting more involvement from the youth.
Marriage and Family Life
There is a diversity and complexity of the modern family which the church needs to be more open to. The church needs to be a place of welcome and support for families. The establishment of and resourcing of marriage and family life ministry at archdiocesan and parish level is crucial.
Missionary Discipleship
This theme poses the question of what our mission as the church is and what it means for us to be missionary disciples in today’s world. Missionary disciples need to be evangelised and formed themselves through reception of the Sacraments of Initiation, faithful commitment to, and growth in our relationship with Christ.

St. Anne’s Sodality has women of all ages in its membership and these days because so many women are going out to work, it does tend to have more older members.
Originally the movement was started in French Canada by an Oblate of Mary Immaculate priest as early as 1850. It reached South Africa via Lesotho where the OMI’s were active. Fr. Honorat saw married women coming to church and began the sodality as a support group for them, encouraging them to look to St. Anne, mother of Mary and grandmother of Jesus, as a model. In South Africa today the sodality is a strong support group for its members and a powerful resource for their parishes. It is almost exclusively for black women and is active in over 20 dioceses. Their aim is to “serve the family, serve the church and serve the community”.

Run almost entirely by volunteers, the St Vincent de Paul Society is a worldwide organization of lay Catholics who want to express their faith through service to the poor.
The Society of St Vincent de Paul is an international Catholic charity network. It has been operating in South Africa since 1856 and is a registered non-profit and public benefit organization (NPO 003/193).
Every day, our 2500 members and volunteers reach out to vulnerable and marginalized people in their local community. We aim to provide a hand-up, not just a handout.
At the core of our work are over 200 parish committees known as ‘conferences’. These are groups of members from all walks of life who join together to relieve suffering and promote human dignity amongst the poor

The Sodality of the Immaculate Conception is a Roman Catholic Marian group that can be joined by everyone regardless of sex, age, or marital status. It was founded on the 19th of October 1917 by Maximillian Kolbe, a Polish Franciscan priest well known for his humility and meekness. Maximillian had realized that people were fighting against the Catholic Church; the solidarity was accepted in the church by Pope in 1926. In 1987 Pope John II published the group to the Worldwide.
Our work is to evangelize worldwide.
The objective of Immaculate Conception is to re-unite all Catholics of the whole world, of every age and social standing and here in the cathedral we would like to come together as a church to love and honor the Blessed Mother and wish to imitate her in our daily lives. We would like to promote Marian devotion to our society
The aims of the Sodality is:
a. To establish the kingdom of God through Mary in every soul by their sanctification and that of the neighbor.
b. To convert sinners all the enemies of the church, by working under the patronage of the Immaculate Virgin Mother, Mediatrix of all graces
