The miraculous Catch of Fish – Allow God to Direct your life
Today’s readings take us back to Isaiah’s calling. Isaiah did not invite his revelation or vocation. It came to him. The readings also take us back to when Peter was praying in the Temple, God came to him. In the Gospel, Jesus goes into Peter’s boat without his permission.
This depicts how God exists in our lives. He comes into your boat (life) and makes demands. Peter replies and makes reference to how they had been working day and night and yet failed to catch any fish. This ought to remind us as Christians that as long as we are in control of our lives, as long as we are in charge, we will be unbale to catch any Light, Grace or any good from life.
God’s Grace fuctions in a such a way that we need to live fully in realization that we are sinners. God’s Grace first comes into our lives and we understand that we are not fully functional by ourselves. Once you have experienced God’s Grace and you compare your life earthly against Divinity, you will then realize that you are a sinner.
In this depiction, the boat is a symbol of one’s life. You ought not demand that God comes into your life. God invades your life, He comes into your life. He makes demands and you have the freedom to accept or decline the mission given to you. When you accept God’s mission, you accept being sent as a vehicle os Salvation. An evangelizer of our Faith in its entirety.
Allow God to use you. Allow Him to direct your life and all else shall be added unto you.
